Beginner Piano Resources (Sight Reading, Word Searches, The Blue Danube Duet)

This bundle contains four resource listings for beginner piano students, teachers, or musicians looking for more sight reading or playing exercises. This is also for anyone who feels like playing some old-fashioned printable word searches.

1. Composer Word Search, vol. 1

• This PDF features word searches on nine composers, using relevant musical terms as well as pertinent names and concepts. The word lists can be used as vocabulary reminders, exercises, or fun assignments. Ideal for music history review.
• There are six bonus smaller word unscrambler puzzles (1-6 words) with the group topic as the clue.
• All puzzles are in grayscale for easy printing or replicating (for personal use or piano studios). Formatted for 8.5" x 11", portrait, with space for hole-punching or binding. Work sheets are 1-2 pages. Answer keys are located at the end of the document (in colour).

2. Sight Reading Level 1 Book

• This is a PDF containing 50 sight reading exercises for piano at level 1.
• Exercises are divided between hands and each hand has notes within the five-finger position. They are 4-measures in length, 4/4 time, written on the grand staff, and in the key of C major, F major, G major, or A minor.

• This is a PDF containing 50 sight reading exercises for piano at level 2.
• Exercises are divided between hands. They are 4-measures in length, 4/4 time, written on the grand staff, and in the key of C major, F major, G major, A minor, or D minor.

4. The Blue Danube Piano Duet (Score and Audio Tracks)

• This is my arrangement of an excerpt from "An der schönen, blauen Donau" ("The Blue Danube"), op. 314, by Johann Strauss II. This version is written for piano four hands which can be performed as a piano duet or duo. It is in the original key so it can be played with recordings as a reference. 
• Ideal as a pedagogical piece. Can be played as a concert piece in studio recitals. Easy for beginner-intermediate students to listen and follow along with a teacher or duet partner. Great way to introduce students to the key of D major.
